Oxytech is the sole Australian distributor of Oxyplast Powder Coatings, but it is really an all-Australian success story, based in Western Sydney and having kicked off in mid-May 2009 with the father/son team of Richard and Scott Barter.
Oxyplast powders are manufactured in Singapore under license to the Protech/Oxyplast Group, one of the largest powder coating manufacturers worldwide with production plants in over 30 countries. Oxyplast’s Singapore facility is one of only four production plants licensed to the Protech/Oxyplast Group in South East Asia and China, drawing on over 30 years’ experience in the development and manufacturing of high-quality powder coatings.
“One of our major claims is that Oxytech has the biggest and brightest variety of powder products in Australia,” explains Scott, who has over 13 years’ experience in the powder coating industry. “We specialise in industrial powder coatings, for every application from small pieces like shop or office fittings, to fencing and large switchboards, and even large pieces of machinery, including agricultural and automotive applications.
“Over time we’ve expanded into powder coating consumables, including hooks, masking tapes, silicone plugs and caps,” Scott says. But the view for providing a one-stop shop for the Australian powder coating industry didn’t stop there as Richard and Scott recognised a growing market for other associated products.
“We are Australia’s only RAL Colour distributor. These are licensed colour standards used worldwide and mandatory for anyone wanting exact colour matches – a vital requirement if you want a stand-out, professional result for your coating,” says Scott.
“We now also sell a comprehensive range of Australian-manufactured and delivered pre-treatment chemicals, graffiti cleaning chemicals, metal putty, and automotive specialty products, including degreaser, paint stripper, Easy Phos metal sealant, our own specialty car wash and the Anti-Ox anti-rust solution.”
